With almost 7,000 students enrolled, Methuen Public Schools opened its classroom doors to students of all grades Wednesday morning. Kids streamed into the city’s six schools – Methuen High School, Comprehensive Grammar School, Marsh Grammar School, Tenney Grammar School and Donald P. Timony Grammar School, in the early morning hours. School teachers, assistants and administrators greeted the students, often offering encouragement to the younger students. Outside of Marsh Grammar School an oversized M greeted the arrivals and many took turns posing in front of it for the obligatory first-day-of-school photo.
