LAWRENCE — Firefighters quickly knocked down a blaze Saturday morning at an industrial building on Andover Street.
The Lawrence Fire Department announced at 1:26 p.m. that the fire had been extinguished, sharing a photograph with several firefighters at the scene.
Lawrence Fire received assistance from Rehab 5 and Lawrence General Hospital EMTs and paramedics during the response.
Lawrence General Hospital EMS later confirmed the fire occurred in the area of Andover Street and described it as a quick knockdown.
Rehab Five wrote online, “We responded to a quick fire in Lawrence this morning. Served a few cups of coffee in 6° weather.”
Photos show the blaze occurred around 659 Andover St., just off of Glenn Street, outside of Charm Sciences Inc. The fire appeared to break out along an exterior side of the building.
Images show bright orange flames shooting up from the building an thick black smoke overhead. After the fire was knocked down, firefighters can be seen working both on the roof and at ground level. Some of the crew appear to be on a ladder positioned against the building near a visibly charred and blackened section of the property next to mechanical units.
