GASPORT — Fire broke out at a house on Gasport Road Tuesday afternoon. The blaze was contained quickly and no injuries were reported, according to the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office.
Central dispatch fielded a report about a possible house fire at 4671 Gasport Road at 4:23 p.m. The caller indicated flames were visible on the exterior of the house.
Responding sheriff’s deputies confirmed an active fire in the front of the house and also confirmed there were no occupants inside.
Personnel from Gasport Chemical Hose, Terry’s Corners and Middleport volunteer fire companies, and Lockport Fire Department, were dispatched. Responders quickly contained the fire to the area of origin and subsequently extinguished it, the sheriff’s office said.
No damage estimate was provided Tuesday evening. The cause of the fire is to be determined by the county Fire Investigation Unit.
