OAKLAND — Occupants of a cabin that caught fire Tuesday evening escaped the structure without injury after attempting to extinguish the blaze.
The fire at 2664 Kempton Road caused about $225,000 damage, the Office of the Maryland State Fire Marshal said. The fire started in the basement, and the cause remains under investigation.
The property is owned by Roots to Sky Sanctuary LLC.
Investigators said it was unclear whether the property had smoke alarms.
