An interactive, working-together-as-a-team gathering is planned for the Fairfield Glade Fantastic Quilters’ membership meeting Friday, July 18.
The meeting begins at 9 a.m. in the fellowship hall of Fairfield Glade United Methodist Church at 231 Westchester Drive.
The education committee has planned the special “Christmas in July” twist in conjunction with the Christmas tree decorating committee as members help them prepare “ornament kits” for distribution and for sewing.
The Guild participates each December in the annual Parade of Christmas Trees at First National Bank of Tennessee in Crossville. The ornament kits prepared during will be distributed to Guild Members for their help in sewing and producing ornaments to be used on this year’s tree.
Guild Members are asked to bring a rotary cutter, scissors, ruler and small cutting mat as well as scraps of white, cream, and gold- sparkled fabrics to the meeting to join in the fun and fellowship as the group works cooperatively like Santa’s Elves to help prepare for this holiday tradition.
The membership meeting kicks off with the business meeting that includes committee reports from both June and July as well as a celebration of members’ June and July birthdays. It will conclude with a time of Show and Tell.
The Fantastic Quilters Guild is a local group of more than 140 quilters who meet the third Friday of the month to further the art of quilting through education, sharing, community outreach, and social camaraderie. They have been meeting since 2002.
