Family safe after mobile home fire
MANKATO — A family is safe after their mobile home caught fire Saturday evening, the city of Mankato reported on its Facebook page.
One adult and one child were home at the time of the fire and were able to exit safely with their dog, according to the fire department.
Mankato Fire was dispatched to a structure fire at 824 Southhaven Drive at around 8:06 p.m. Saturday evening and found the house engulfed.
The city said that the Red Cross is assisting the family.
Crews worked in subzero temperatures to put out the fire; the scene was cleared at 11:40 p.m.
The North Mankato Fire Department also responded to the fire, and the Minnesota State Fire Marshal is assisting with the investigation.
