Falls police are investigating the death of a man in a stabbing incident in a home in the 1300 block of Vanderbilt Avenue early Saturday morning.
Criminal Investigation Division detectives executed a search warrant at the home, 1333 Vanderbilt Ave., on Monday afternoon. Crime Scene Unit (CSU) detectives were seen removing half a dozen evidence bags before leaving the home.
One of the evidence bags appeared to contain a baseball bat.
Patrol officers were first called to the home at around 2:35 a.m. for a report of a domestic disturbance. When the officers arrived, they found a male victim suffering from a stab wound to the chest.
The victim was described as unresponsive and was rushed to Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. He was pronounced dead at NFMMC a short time later.
The stabbing reportedly occurred during a domestic disturbance which involved the victim and two women. Police have not released the victim’s name, but have confirmed his death.
One of the women was detained by police on Saturday morning but has now reportedly been released while the investigation continues.
Police have not yet classified the death as a homicide.
