DANVILLE — Spring Fling is this year’s theme for Fair Hope Children’s Ministry’s basket fundraiser.
The online basket auction begins April 22 and ends April 28. The auction website is 32auctions.com/fairhope24.
Bidders also can access the auction through the Fair Hope Children’s Ministry Facebook page.
Bidders create an account by entering their email address and create a password.
“All proceeds support our mission at Fair Hope,” according to Volunteer Mary Reik.
The basket auction raised more than $4,000 in 2021, then just under $2,000 in 2022. They took last year off.
Reik says the money goes toward the purchase of new underwear and socks, pajamas, car seats, and pack and play sleep units to needy families.
“It will also help with the general expenses of our all-volunteer mission,” she added.
There will be a variety of baskets offered, including items from local businesses and related to cooking, Tupperware, grilling, spring decor, pets, and much more.
Basket names include; Spring into Charcuterie, Do It in Danville, Pamper Hamper, Kitty Cat Love, Fire Up the Grill, and Break Time.
Fair Hope is located at 1225 E. Voorhees St., the former George’s Buffet and later the UAW Union hall.
Fair Hope is a mission program created in 2004, with the specific goal of giving assistance to the children of Danville and surrounding communities.
This assistance provides, free of charge, clothing for newborns to 18 year olds. In addition to clothing,
Fair Hope provides coats, hats, gloves, shoes, and new socks, underwear and pajamas.
Layettes are given to newborns, as well as car seats and portable sleep units. All clothing is donated by community individuals and organizations.
Donations are welcomed to provide new items, as well as to help maintain its building.
