MALONE — Merick Meacham and Jake Kaska accounted for two goals and an assist each to power Malone’s Franklin Academy to a 6-0 win over Beekmantown in non-league boys’ hockey Tuesday.
The Section X Huskies (5-0), who are currently ranked 14th in the state in Division II, scored two power-play goals early in the first period to take a 2-0 lead.
Elijah Henning added a goal and three assists for Franklin Academy, and Harrison Eddy recorded the shutout in net with 22 saves.
Denali Boyea-Woodward chipped in with a goal and assist, while Chase Carriero added two assists.
The Huskies, leading 2-0 after one, put the game out of reach with three goals in the second period.
Starter Jack Bell (12) and Oliver Ringer (8), who took over in net a minute into the third period, combined for 18 saves for the Eagles (2-4-1).

POTSDAM — Ayden McCormick scored with assists going to Ethan Knight and Braydon Harvey for the lone SLP goal.
The Red Storm (2-2-1) was tied with the Section X Sandstoners (6-0), who are ranked eighth in the state in Division I, at 1-all after one in the non-league contest.
But Tommy Niles and Brandon Bernard scored just five seconds apart early in the second to put Potsdam ahead to stay at 3-1 as SLP was guilty of several defensive miscues in the stanza.
Bernard finished with two goals for the Sandstoners, while Jacory Johnson, Kayden McGaheran, Quinn McGaheran, Lukas Myers and Niles each added one. Liam Hubbard stopped 27 of 28 shots in the Potsdam nets.
Scott Nicholas made 24 saves on 31 shots on goal in net for the Red Storm.
