DANVILLE — Feeling overwhelmed by grocery bills and clutter? This double feature talk tackles both.
Illinois Extension’s Family Life and Nutrition and Wellness Teams are bringing an exciting double feature to Immanuel Lutheran Residences, 1415 Eastview Ave. Danville, at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, April 24. The events will occur in the community room and are open to the public.
First up at 9 a.m., “Shopping on a Budget: Getting the Best Nutritional Bang for Your Buck,” with Nutrition and Wellness Educator Rachel Mannen, will show you how to eat healthy without breaking the bank.
Attendees will learn valuable skills like menu planning, smart grocery shopping strategies, and creative ways to incorporate affordable, healthy ingredients into their meals. “Many people struggle to find affordable, healthy meal options,” says Mannen. “This program will provide practical tips and strategies to help families stretch their grocery budgets while maintaining a nutritious diet.”
Following a short break, “Where to Start: Decluttering Your Home and Finances” with Family Life Educator Emily Harmon will begin. This program will help you simplify your space and finances. “Clutter can be a major source of mental and financial stress,” says Harmon. “By learning effective decluttering techniques, you can free up space in your home and potentially save money on unnecessary items.”
