Joe Brady has added another familiar name to his offensive staff.
The Buffalo Bills announced Monday that D.J. Mangas will be returning next season as an offensive quality control coach. Mangas, 34, spent last season as the offensive coordinator and tight ends coach for the University at Buffalo and joined the Bills as an offensive assistant once UB’s season ended.
Mangas was officially announced during the bye week, two weeks after Brady was promoted to offensive coordinator. The two were teammates at William and Mary and then overlapped as assistant coaches there in 2014.
While Brady was the passing game coordinator for LSU in 2019, Mangas was an offensive analyst. Mangas was then an offensive assistant during Brady’s first season as offensive coordinator for the Carolina Panthers in 2020.
Mangas was the passing game coordinator for LSU in 2021 and a defensive analyst for Central Florida in 2023. With Mangas as offensive coordinator, UB finished eighth in the MAC in total yards and points.
The Bills added Ronald Curry, who coached with Brady in New Orleans, as quarterbacks coach last week.
