DANVERS — Essex Tech has named a new student resource officer from the Danvers Police Department.
Officer Chris Freepartner is stepping into the role for the new school year after working as a patrol officer and field training officer, Essex North Shore Agricultural & Technical School said in a statement.
Freepartner lives in Peabody with his wife and two children and has been with Danvers Police since 2024.
He previously worked as a correctional officer with the Essex County Sheriff’s Department, a project manager and field technician with Superheat FGH, and as a pile driver with Carpenters Local 578. He also served in the U.S. Marine Corps.
His experience in the trades creates a “natural connection to Essex Tech students,” according to the school’s statement.
“We are excited to welcome Officer Freepartner to Essex Tech,” Superintendent Heidi T. Riccio said in the statement. “His commitment to public service, along with his experience in the skilled trades, gives him a unique understanding of our school community.
“Most importantly, he will be a visible and approachable presence who can build positive relationships with our students while helping us maintain a safe, welcoming and connected environment.”
