A community emergency exercise is scheduled to take place Thursday at Cumberland County High School.
Cumberland County Emergency Management Director Travis Cole made the announcement via a prepared statement sent by email Thursday morning.
No time was given for the exercise.
“There will be a heavy presence of emergency vehicles, equipment, and personnel on campus at CCHS during the drill,” Cole said in the statement, “however, no road closures will be necessary.”
The exercise is part of the Watts Bar Fixed Nuclear Facility’s Emergency Preparedness Plan.
Participating agencies include EMA in conjunction with Cumberland County and Crossville Fire Departments’ Hazardous Materials Response Team, Crossville Police Department, Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office, Cumberland County Health Department, Cumberland County School District, Tennessee Department of Health, Tennessee Emergency Management Agency, Tennessee Valley Authority, and American Red Cross.
