Several students from Ross Collins Career and Technical Center recently competed in the Educators Rising Mississippi State Conference held on the campus of Mississippi College in Clinton.
During the two-day conference, students attended several sessions designed to build on what they have learned in class this year. The students presented in categories ranging from Ethical Dilemma to Job Interview.
Havyn Riser of Clarkdale High School placed in the Top 10 in the competitive category of Job Interview. The judges were very complimentary of her, noting that she possesses qualities that make her the perfect candidate for a future educator.
The Ethical Dilemma team from Meridian High School captured the first-place award, impressing the judges during their presentation. The team consists of Barraka Bland, CharTayvious Edwards, Lyric Sims and Ollan Thomas. These students will compete in the national competition held in Washington, D.C., from June 28-July 1.
