OLNEY — Ben Roedl placed in the top-five in three different events for the Altamont boys track and field team on Friday at the Olney Boys Invitational.
The 18-team meet hosted by Olney (Richland County) saw Roedl win the high jump with a leap of six feet, one inch. He was second in the triple jump at 41 feet, five inches and fifth in the long jump at 19 feet, 11 inches.
The Indians finished fourth as a team with 59 points. Richland County won with 149 1/2 points. Salem was second with 68 1/2 and Charleston was third with 61.
Locally, Newton finished sixth with 56 points. Teutopolis was 11th with 33. St. Anthony was 12th with 27 1/2. North Clay was 15th with 10 and Dieterich was 16th with eight.
In the 100-meter dash, Cardinals junior Mason Byers finished seventh in 12.03 seconds. He finished second in the 400 at 52.52 seconds.
Bulldogs senior Noah Flaig finished ninth in the 200 with a 25.05-second personal record.
Eagles junior Hayden Borgic earned a personal record and a win in the 800 with a time of 2:01.
Movin Maroons junior Trevor Crutcher finished fourth in the 3200 at 10:05 and sixth in the 1600 at 4:48.
Wooden Shoes sophomores Karson Zerrusen won the 110-meter hurdles at 15.90 seconds.
Altamont’s Hayden Summers won the 300-meter hurdles with a 41.64-second personal record.
The Indians 4×100-meter relay team (Summers, senior Alex Walker and juniors Trent Tedrick and Jacob Veteto) finished eighth at 46.84 seconds. The 4×200-meter relay team (Walker, Roedl, Tedrick and Veteto) finished sixth in 1:40 and the 4×400 team (Tedrick, Summers, junior Jacob Johnson and sophomore Hayden Bridges) won in 3:35.
The Newton 4×800 team (Borgic, senior Jackson Sornberger, sophomore Parker Harris and junior Wade Ochs) finished third in 8:58.
T-Town senior Anthony Roley finished second in the shot put at 46 feet, 7.5 inches.
Indians junior Brock Wendling was seventh in the discus at 128 feet.
Shoes sophomore Brant Niebrugge finished second in the pole vault with a personal best jump of 13 feet, six inches.

Arthur (A.-Lovington-Atwood-Hammond) Quadrangular Meet
The Neoga Indians competed with Arthur-Lovington-Atwood-Hammond, Farmer City (Blue Ridge) and Tri-County at a quadrangular meet in Arthur.
Neoga finished with 71 1/2 points on the boys side and 40 points on the girls.
In boys events, Ian Caudill finished fourth in the 100 at 12.2 seconds. Rylan Eaton was fourth in the 200 with a 26.1-second personal record. Jayton Hanfland was fifth in the 400 with a 56.1-second personal record. Lucas Keller won the 800 at 2:16. Brett Matusas won the 1600 at 5:07 and Gavin Ray won the 3200 at 11:01.
Colten Beabout was second in the 110-meter hurdles with a 19.9-second personal record. Fisher Porter was second in the 300-meter hurdles at 47.4 seconds.
The 4×100-meter relay team (Eaton, Caudill, Hanfland and Brayden Ray) was second at 48.3 seconds. The 4×200 team (Porter, Caudill, Brayden Ray and Asher Cardinal) won in 1:43. The 4×400 team (Keller, Cardinal, Matusus and Hanfland) won 4:05. The 4×800 team (Keller, Matusus, Kaden Bryant and Tate Christner) won in 9:08.
Gavin Eastin was fifth in the shot put with a 33-foot, 4.75-inch personal record and 12th in the discus with a 77-foot, 11-inch personal record. Brayden Ray was third in the high jump at five feet, 7.75 inches. Beabout was fifth in the long jump with a 17-foot, 0.75-inch personal record.
Emileonna Hamilton was fifth in the 100, on the girls side, at 14 seconds and ninth in the 200 at 30.8 seconds. Atalie Osborn won the 800 with a 2:45 personal record. Osborn was second in the 1600 with a 6:18 personal record.
Molly Moran won the 300-meter hurdles at 56.7 seconds.
The 4×100 team (Hamilton, Moran, Laura Knoblach and Malory Henderson) was third at 55.7 seconds. The 4×200 team (Knobloch, Addison Mast, Ella Monroe and Kendal Lindsay) was third at 2:13. The 4×400 team (Osborn, Lindsay, Mast and Moran) won at 5:09.
Kenly Westendorf was sixth in the shot put with a 25-foot, 1.25-inch personal best and sixth in the discus with a 68-foot, 2.5-inch personal best. Knobloch was third in the high jump at four feet, 1.5 inches. Moran was fourth in the long jump with a 13-foot, 5.75-inch personal best.
Robinson Quadrangular Meet
The Eagles and Cumberland Pirates competed in the Robinson Quadrangular Meet.
Newton only sent its boys athletes and won with 121 points. Cumberland was third with 70. The Lady Pirates were second in girls events with 49 1/2 points.
Brock Anderson finished fourth in the 100 for the Eagles with a 12.1-second personal record. Matthew Haskett won the 400 at 54.6 seconds. Borgic won the 800 at 2:04. Holden Barthelemy was third in the 3200 with an 11:27 personal record.
Owen Schackmann was second in the 110-meter hurdles at 16.2 seconds and won the 300-meter hurdles at 45.1 seconds. The 4×400 team (Borgic, Haskett, Harris and Henry Will) won in 3:41. The 4×800 team (Sornberger, Ochs, Borgic and Tanner Whitaker) won in 9:09.
Grayson Lingafelter won the high jump with a five-foot, six-inch personal record. Wade Wickham won the pole vault at 12 feet.
Jonah Tibbs was fifth in the 200 for the Pirates at 25.1 seconds. Gavin Whitaker was third in the 1600 at 5:04.
The 4×100 team (Logan Gerhardt, Kaleb Bierman, Cael McMechan and Reid Carlen) won 45.2 seconds. The 4×200 team (McMechan, Carlen, Gerhardt and Kaleb Bierman) won in 1:35.
Isaac Venatta was third in the shot put at 40 feet, two inches and second in the discus at 119 feet, eight inches. Landon Finn won the long jump at 17 feet, 10 inches and Kelby Bierman won the triple jump with a 40-foot, 8.5-inch personal record.
Alyssa Dittamore was second in the 100, on the girls side, for Cumberland with a 13.9-second personal record and won the 200 with a 28.4-second personal record.
Hannah Shoemaker was second in the 110-meter hurdles with a 17.2-second personal record and second in the 300-meter hurdles at 54.8 seconds.
The 4×100 team (Shoemaker, Kaelin Edwards, Kailen Leitch and Brielle Aaron) was third at 56.4 seconds. The 4×200 team (Aaron, Kaelin Edwards, Layla Holsapple and Sadie Colnar) was third at 2:04. The 4×400 team (Edwards, Leitch, Aaron and Shoemaker) was second at 4:56.
Natalie Beaumont was second in the shot put at 28 feet and eighth in the discus with a 56-foot, 10-inch personal record. Holsapple won the high jump with a four-foot, seven-inch personal record. Colnar was fifth in the long jump at 12 feet, 6.5 inches.
