TOLEDO — The Cumberland Pirates were 11-19 last season, losing in the Class 2A Vandalia Regional Quarterfinals.
Head coach Justin Roedl is entering his 17th season and has a career record of 217-230.
Roedl talked about the forthcoming season below.
Outlook on the season
“We return four starters — nine of our top 10 — including seven letter winners from a team that finished 11-19 last year.”
Feelings before the new season begins
“I am excited to see where we go as we return a ton of kids with lots of varsity experience that have gotten bigger and stronger over the summer. We will still be relatively young, with only one senior with varsity experience, but the potential for a good year is there.”
Returners
“Senior Kelby Bierman (6-foot-2), junior Kaleb Bierman (6-foot-1), junior Zack Harmon (6-foot-7), and sophomore Cameron Roedl (6-foot).
Newcomers
“Junior Reed Miller (5-foot-10), junior Kade McMechan (5-foot-9), sophomore Chase Stewart (5-foot-11) and sophomore Isaac Venatta (6-foot-1).”
