EFFINGHAM — Below is the 2024-2025 Effingham Daily News All-Area Girls Basketball First and Second Team.
Ten players are divided into two separate teams and are listed in alphabetical order:
FIRST TEAM
Guard: Dayana Haslett, soph., Brownstown-St. Elmo
Dynamic three-level scorer and leader of a regional champion. Led the area with 22.6 points per game. Also averaged four rebounds and 2.4 assists per game. All-tournament at the National Trail Conference Tournament and the Dieterich Girls Holiday Tournament. All-conference first-team selection from the National Trail Conference.

Jefferson College softball recruit. Led the area with 5.1 assists per game. Also averaged 11.8 points and seven rebounds per game. All-tournament at the National Trail Conference Tournament. All-conference first-team selection from the National Trail Conference.

Lake Land College softball recruit. All-time leading scorer in Newton girls basketball program history. Averaged 16.6 points, 5.6 rebounds and three assists per game. All-tournament at the Newton Bob Kerans Thanksgiving Basketball Tournament and the Fairfield Merry Mule Tournament. All-conference first-team selection from the Little Illini Conference.

Lake Land College softball recruit. Averaged 14.8 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game. All-tournament at the Newton Bob Kerans Thanksgiving Basketball Tournament and the Fairfield Merry Mule Tournament. All-conference first-team selection from the Little Illini Conference.
Guard: Jude Miller, frosh., Toledo (Cumberland)
Averaged 17.7 points, 5.4 rebounds and was second in the area in assists at 3.8 per game. All-tournament at the Cowden-Herrick-Beecher City Thanksgiving Tournament and the Dieterich Girls Holiday Tournament. All-conference first-team selection from the Lincoln Prairie Conference.

All-conference first-team selection from the National Trail Conference.
Guard: Nancy Ruholl, sr., Effingham (St. Anthony)
All-time leading scorer in St. Anthony girls basketball program history. Second in the area in scoring at 22 points per game. Also grabbed 7.2 rebounds and handed out 3.5 assists per contest. Effingham Daily News Girls Basketball co-Player of the Year. All-tournament at the National Trail Conference Tournament, Robinson Thanksgiving Tournament and the Coles County Girls Holiday Basketball Tournament.
