BAKER, W.Va. — Shayne Sisler went the distance and added a pair of hits at the dish, leading East Hardy to a 12-6 win over Moorefield Tuesday.
Sisler allowed four earned runs on five hits and two walks with 11 strikeouts for the Cougars (10-5).
He finished 2 for 3 offensively with two RBIs, a walk and a stolen base.
Mason Hamilton worked four walks and stole three bases, adding a hit and run driven in.
Evan Hamilton drove in three runs and added two hits, two walks and two stolen bases.
Edison Metheny led the Yellow Jackets, going 2 for 3 with a triple.
Trevor Baldwin hit a two-run home run in the top of the second to open the scoring for Moorefield.
East Hardy hosts No. 5 Fort Hill (8-4-1) on Wednesday before heading to Pocahontas County on Friday at 4:30 p.m.
Moorefield plays South Harrison and Doddridge County on Saturday.
Pendleton County 10, Petersburg 6
PETERSBURG, W.Va. — Petersburg out-hit Pendleton County, 10-9, but fell behind early and were unable to rally in Tuesday’s loss.
The Wildcats led 3-1 after one and 8-3 after four.
Kaleb Kuhn led the Vikings (5-10), going 3 for 4 while Payton Metheny was 2 for 4 with a solo homer in the third.
Chase Owens got the win with five earned runs on 10 hits with no walks and 10 strikeouts for Pendleton.
Mason Miller reecorded two hits and three RBIs including a double for the Wildcats.
Kuhn took the loss after being charged with six earned runs across four innings.
Petersburg heads to Tygarts Valley on Wednesday, then No. 2 Frankfort (9-6) on Friday at 6 p.m.
Shanksville 17, Lighthouse 7
SHANKSVILLE, Pa. — Shanksville scored at least three runs in four of the five innings of Tuesday’s win over Lighthouse.
The Vikings scored three in the first, four in the second and fifth and five in the fourth.
Grant Boozer ended the game with a three-run home run in the bottom of the fifth to implement the run rule.
Matt Miller went 4 2/3 innings, allowing six earned runs with six strikeouts for Shanksville.
Silas Leith led the Seahawks (1-5), going 3 for 4.
Easton Wagner and Jake Zewatsky each had a pair of hits.
Lighthouse hosts Trinity Christian for a doubleheader on Thursday at 4:30 p.m.
