BAKER, W.Va. — Jordan Teets was unstoppable in the first quarter, scoring 14 points and leading No. 4 East Hardy to a 68-51 win over No. 5 Frankfort on Tuesday.
The Cougars (17-5) scored 19 points in the first quarter with Teets responsible for 14.
Teets finished with a game-high 26 off five 3-pointers.
Evan Hamilton shot 8 of 11 at the line and finished with 18 points while Gideon Good scored 11 points for East Hardy.
Jeremy Phillips set a season-high with seven 3-pointers and led the Falcons (11-10) with 27 points.
He hit three triples in the second and fourth quarters and did all of his scoring after the first quarter.
Jake Layton finished with 11 points for Frankfort.
The Cougars led 19-10, 37-21 and 46-34 after the first three quarters.
East Hardy won the junior varsity game 51-48 led by Dayton Dave’s 20 points and Mason Wilkins with 15 points.
The Falcons were led by Ethan Talley’s 16 points and Braeden Laffey’s 10.
Both teams move on to the West Virginia Regional playoffs beginning on Friday at 7 p.m.
Frankfort will be the No. 6 seed in the Class AAA, Region II bracket and heads to No. 3 Lincoln.
East Hardy is the No. 2 seed in Class A, Region II and opens at home against No. 7 Pocahontas County.

MOUNT STORM, W.Va. — Braylon Ward nearly recorded a triple-double, leading Union over Pocahontas County on Tuesday.
Ward led all scorers with 19 points for the Tigers (11-10), adding 13 rebounds, seven steals and three assists.
Jacob Wolfe finished with 12 points, seven boards and five assists while Jacob Haines posted nine points, three rebounds and three steals.
Ben Workman led the Warriors with 11 points.
Union will be the No. 5 seed in Class A, Region II and travels to No. 4 Pendleton County to open the playoffs on Friday at 7 p.m.
