PLATTSBURGH — As the soccer season continues to get underway, Beekmantown has shown early signs it will be a team to reckon with. That’s in both boys and girls soccer.
For the second straight day, the Eagle girls continued with a second straight shutout as they defeated NCCS to win the Cougar Classic.
The boys opened up the season against Plattsburgh in the Frankie Garrow tournament and also pitched a clean sheet with a 7-0 victory.
In what could be viewed as a stunner, Chazy lost the nightcap of the tournament when it fell to Canton, 1-0.

It only takes one shot, one opportunity to make or break a game.
Canton got that opportunity late in the first half when Will Andes found the back of the net for the lone goal in a 1-0 victory over Chazy.
It was a game the Eagles had multiple opportunities, but just weren’t able to crack the Golden Bears defense.
Often Chazy found itself in space but Canton would close with a stout defense that limited opportunities and provided very few clear shots on net.
With the win, Canton advances to play Beekmantown at 7 p.m., Saturday while Chazy and Plattsburgh kick off the action at 5 p.m..

CHAMPLAIN — It doesn’t look like the Eagles are showing any signs of slowing down. With 15 goals in two games — eight by Reese Peryer alone — Beekmantown claimed the Cougar Classic with a 6-0 victory over Northern Adirondack.
While the offense was shining, the defense put in the dirty work not allowing the Bobcats to get a chance to get a shot on net. The Eagles finished with a 20-0 shot advantage.
While Resse Peryer recorded her second hat trick in as many days, the other three goals came from a different Hagadorn.
Jillian Hagadorn opened the scoring just after the midway point in the first half. Carly and Olivia Hagadorn finished with the last two goals of the night, respectively.
