SARANAC LAKE — Beekmantown hit the ice on fire, scoring in every period to defeat SLP, 5-0.
“I could not be more proud of the collective effort of our entire team tonight against a gritty SLP team,” Beekmantown coach Justin Frechette said. “I thought we did a nice job with our forecheck and creating multiple scoring chances throughout the game.”
It started with Louis Sweenor who opened the scoring with an unassisted goal, and he wouldn’t be done there.
Later in the first period he set up Sam Bingel with a nice pass to pad the lead to 2-0.
In the second period the Eagles continued their pressure with Novak Jarus scoring with the help of Zack LaPier and Edward Sweenor.
Along with that goal, LaPier was a part of the final three goals of the game.
Louis Sweenor got his second goal of the game from a pass from LaPier to close out the second period scoring.
LaPier and Edward Sweenor connect in the third period to close out the scoring.
“Louis Sweenor and Sam Bingel were dominant all night for us on the back end and generated a lot of offense with their play,” Frechette said. “We are looking forward to next Wednesday when we host our Annual Hannah’s Hope Night in our league game against PHS at the Field House at 6:00 p.m.”
