BEEKMANTOWN — Beekmantown won six of the 11 matches contested Wednesday and edged out a 30-24 victory over AuSable Valley in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference wrestling.
Jacob Magiera (138 pounds), Jacob Lagree (145), Sawyer Bell (152) and Jack Brown (190) all recorded pins for the Eagles, while Matt Desotell (124) and Lazaro Herrara (285) were winners by decision.
Winning by fall for the Patriots were Leland Pray (131), Dominick LaPier (160) and Jesse Snow (170). Jayden Burgess (116) and Warren Pray (215) added wins by decision.
“There was a great match at 116 where AuSable Valley’s Jayden Burgess edged out Mason Facteau, 6-4, and at 124 where Beekmantown’s Matt Desotell held on for a tough win against Oryn Bell, 9-8,” said Beekmantown coach Lenny Gadway.
“The dual came down to the final match of the night at 285. It was a great battle where Lazaro Herrera decided the match with a takedown in overtime.”

NAC SECOND IN TOURNEY
ELLENBURG — Host Northern Adirondack finished in second place to Adirondack this past weekend in the Annual Barry Livermore Invitational.
Essex Junction, Vt. placed third.
Winning their weight classes for NAC were Jason Labarge (108), Owen Smith (131), Parker Manor (152) and Trey McGee (190).
“The Barry Livermore Invitational went very well having 11 teams in the field,” said NAC coach Brad Trombley. “It was a long day, but there was a lot of great wrestling to keep the fans entertained.
“NAC crowned four champions on the day, with two winning Most Outstanding Wrestler awards as voted on by the coaches. Jackson Labarge won Lightweight MOW and Trey McGee won Heavyweight MOW.
Peru also competed in the event. Leading the way for the Nighthawks were Alyn Capen second at 101, Caleb Starke third at 124. Cory Winch second at 131, Mason Starke third at 145 and Bryce Wiggins third at 285.
Saranac’s Bradyn Turcotte was third at 101.
