PLATTSBURGH — It was going to be a tall task for either team to accomplish.
As Beekmantown (16-6) faced top ranked in Class A Glens Falls (24-0) and NCCS (10-13) took on second ranked in Class B Stillwater (24-1), both Section VII understood anything is possible in one game series.
It is time for March Madness after all.
Unfortunately, both teams saw their season come to an end, Tuesday night.
STILLWATER 71
NORTHEASTERN CLINTON 34
SHENENDEHOWA — The season that saw the Cougars come on strong in the playoffs, was halted as four Warriors recorded double figures.
Stillwater’s Jaxon Mueller had a team high 17 points as Kaelen Leak and Carter Wichelns added 15 points each. Lukas Lilac added 13 to a team that held a 46-11 halftime lead.
NCCS’ Logen Magoon tied Mueller for the game high 17 points.
The Cougars could never find the offensive rhythm they had in the sectionals as they struggled to find consistency while trying to slow down the Warrior attack.
NCCS will look to build on the success they had to close out the year, to defend their sectional title and push further next year. Northeastern Clinton also says goodbye to six seniors.

GLENS FALLS 92
BEEKMANTOWN 42
SHENENDEHOWA — The Indians played a complete game in their 92-42 victory over the Eagles.
4 players from Glens Falls reached double digits, led by Brady Holcomb with 23.
“Glens Falls proved why they are one of the top teams in the state,” Beekmantown’s Ryan Converse said. “They jumped out to a quick start, and their defensive pressure made it difficult for us to settle in and run an effective offense.”
The Indians’ offense was able to counter whatever the Eagles threw at them. Not only were they good inside, they held a 12-1 advantage from beyond the arc.
Holcomb and Oscar Lilac pour in four threes each. Lilac was second on the team with 17 points.
Nathan Parliament led the Eagles with 10 points as Peyton Viau and Josh Sand poured in eight and seven points, respectively.
“I’m proud of our guys from an effort standpoint,” Converse said. “They have given us everything they have all throughout the season.
It’s tough to see it end this way, but we won’t let that overshadow everything we were able to accomplish as a group. This is a great group of guys and they should be proud of the season they had.
