KEYSER, W.Va. — A driver that reportedly crashed into a Keyser home was flown to a Morgantown trauma center for treatment Tuesday afternoon, according to fire department officials.
Emergency personnel were dispatched to 84 D St. for a vehicle into a house, according to Keyser Fire Department Assistant Chief Boyd Robinson.
A spokesperson for the Mineral County 911 Center said units from Keyser Fire Department, Keyser EMS, Mineral County Emergency Medical Services Response 1, Mineral County Special Operations, Keyser Police Department and the Mineral County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched just before 3 p.m.
“The vehicle took out two support columns on the porch of the duplex,” Robinson said. “We initially used rescue struts to lift the porch and set a post in to stabilize it.”
The driver, who has not been identified, was the only occupant in the vehicle.
Robinson said there were no injuries to residents of the duplex.
Keyser Fire Department established a landing zone at their Cornell Street station for a Maryland State Police Aviation Command medevac helicopter.
The patient was flown to J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital by Trooper 5, according to Cumberland Section Commander Sgt. Michael McCloskey.
The patient’s condition was not immediately available.
