The Downtown Dalton Development Authority (DDDA) is proud to announce the launch of the Hometown Heroes Banner Program, an initiative to honor and celebrate the brave men and women who have served or are currently serving in the military, police, fire or emergency medical services. The banners will be displayed prominently in the downtown area, showcasing the faces and names of local heroes.
Community members have the opportunity to purchase Hometown Heroes banners to honor their loved ones. Each banner will feature a photograph of the hero, along with their name, branch of service and years of service. The banners will be displayed on lightpoles throughout downtown Dalton, creating a powerful visual tribute to those who have dedicated their lives to protecting and serving the community and country.
“We are thrilled to introduce the Hometown Heroes Banner Program as a way to recognize the selfless contributions of our local heroes,” said Candace Eaton, executive director of the Downtown Dalton Development Authority. “These banners will not only honor their service but also inspire pride and gratitude within our community.”
The cost of each banner is $125, and they can be purchased through the Downtown Dalton Development Authority’s office or website. All proceeds will go toward supporting DDDA’s ongoing efforts to enhance and revitalize the downtown area.
The banners will be displayed every year from Memorial Day through Veterans Day. Due to the later start date in 2024 the banners will hang from Labor Day to Veterans Day.
