ANDOVER — There was plenty of speed on display, as local sprinters and hurdlers wowed at Saturday’s Andover Boosters Meet.
For the boys, Jason DeJesus won the 100 dash (10.89) and 200 (22.24), while teammate Patrick Allardi won the 100 hurdles (15.00). North Andover’s David Muir took the 400 (50.52) and Central Catholic’s John Ryan won the 400 hurdles (56.27). Andover won the 4×100, while Central took the 4×400.
On the girls side, Methuen’s Lauren Quarm won the 100 (12.40), Central Catholic’s Anya Neira took the 200 (26.31) and Rayniah Mercedat won the 400 (58.05) and anchored the winning 4×400.
The girls throwers were also on fire. North Andover’s Makenna Dube won the discus (124-9), Haverhill’s Maddie Goncalves took the shot put (38-9.75) and Central’s Franchesca Thurston won the javelin (110-1). Andover also dominated the pole vault.
