MIAA Division 1 Tournament
Methuen 3,
Wachusett Regional 2
In a preliminary round match, No. 33 Methuen (13-4) edged out No. 32 Wachusett Regional (8-9).
At second singles, Methuen’s Dawson Burke won his match, 6-2, 6-2. At first doubles, the team of Dylan Gavin and Drew Gillespie won 6-0, 6-3, as did the second doubles team of Isaac Gillespie and James Touma, 2-6, 6-2, 6-2.
The win pushes the Rangers to the Round of 32 to take on No. 1 seed St. John’s Prep (17-0) on Friday (4 p.m.).
NHIAA Division I Tournament
Manchester Central 6, Salem 3
In the first round of the NHIAA Division 1 playoffs, No. 8 Manchester Central knocked off No. 9 Salem. Winning their matches for the Blue Devils were freshman Brendan Lynn (8-2), and seniors Max Sylvester (8-3) and Dylan Coyle (8-1).
CAC Tennis Championship
In mixed doubles, the Greater Lawrence tandem of Maria Rosario and James Burgos defeated Shawsheen Tech’s Ella Haynes and Matt Kilfoyle, 8-5.
In girls singles, Faith Marttin of Shawsheen Tech defeated Greater Lawrence’s Giday Sanchez, 8-3.
Softball
Timberlane 21,
Nashua North 1
Chaundra Poulin, Juliana Devito, Samantha Mooney and Maddie McFadden supplied the offensive attack combining for seven hits, while driving in nine runs.
Baseball

Nashua North 1
Kieran Lamb went the distance allowing one run while striking out eight. He also struck a pair of doubles. Shaun Ingram chipped in going 2 for 3. Freshman Nate Nutchins added two RBIs. Frank Carrasquillo and Mike Santosuosso played excellent in the outfield with diving catches each.

Manchester Memorial 3
Ella Lampron and Lulu Trasatti scored three goals each to pace the Owls’ offense. Aubrey Fitzgerald and Lila Fitzgerald had two each.

Gr. Lawrence/Nashoba Tech 2
Nashoba wraps up it season 8–12 with one goal and one assist from both Alana Alden and Delaney Auger. Goalie Amber King had 13 saves and finishes her career as the program’s all-time leader in wins and saves.

Softball
Whittier Tech 4, Revere 1
Kaylee Habib struck out 18 and gave up just three hits, and she was helped out offensively by Ainsley Rosseau, who was 3 for 4 and knocked in a run. With Greater Lawrence’s loss to Greater Lowell, Whittier Tech was crowned the CAC League Champion on Monday.

Samantha Nasella tossed a complete game with 11 strikeouts. Mya German and Sofia Dominguez had two hits each.
Central Catholic 18,
North Andover 6
Bella Boyer led the 18-run attack finishing 3 for 3 with five RBI. Also for Central, Jill Clements, Caitlin Miner and Emily Goc combined for six hits and seven RBI.
For North Andover, Jayla Jones was 2 for 3 with two RBI.
Pentucket 7, Haverhill 0
Reece Favalora was the lone Hillies’ batter with multiple hits, finishing 2 for 2.
Baseball
Andover 5, Shrewsbury 0
Drew Pulsifer threw a complete game shutout, allowing just four hits as Andover closes out the regular season with a 15-5 record. Chris Jaillet notched two hits and Will Norris and Ryan Jaillet had key RBIs.
Portsmouth 9, Timberlane 8
Timberlane rallied from an early 6-0 deficit to take a 8-6 lead but Portsmouth answered in the end to win 9-8. Kieran Lamb (1-3, 2 RBI) and Shaun Ingram (2 hits) led the Owls offense.
Girls Lacrosse
John Stark 10, Pelham 8
Ella Desimone paced the Pythons offense with five goals, while goalie Addison Breault made 16 saves to push her career number to 505.

Tri County 3
Nashoba’s Delaney Auger scored her 100th career goal in a five goal three assist effort. Samantha Richards added four goals, four assists and seven draw controls, while, Alanna Alden, Brooklyn Kluck and Ava Cozzolino combined for five goals and five assists.

Central Catholic 9
Cal Schoenfeld and Luke Faletra scored three goals each and Chase Akstin added three assists but that wasn’t enough for the Raiders in the non-league game. Joe Buchanan won 21 out of 24 faceoffs and Maddox Moscardini 15 saves.
