Members of The Crab-Orchard Chapter, NSDAR recently attended the Naturalization Ceremony held at Big South Fork National River & Recreation Area, Oneida.
The Honorable Suzanne H. Bauknight, Chief United States Bankruptcy Judge, presided.
The Alvin C. York Institute JROTC made the presentation of colors with the Scott High School Ensemble presenting a musical rendition of “My Country Tis of Thee.”
An estimated 150 new citizens representing 50 countries took the oath of allegiance which includes the following statement: “I will support and defend the Constitution and laws of the United States…”
Following the oath of allegiance, members of the DAR welcomed each of the new citizens and presented each with a U.S. Flag and a Flag Code.
Bauknight presented each new citizen a certificate.
DAR members of The Crab-Orchard, Avery Trace, Emory Road and Coyote Path chapters provided a reception enjoyed by the new citizens and their family and friends.
