DANVILLE — A First Friday favorite returns this Friday at the Fischer Theatre.
“Danville’s Got Talent” returns with a twist, as returning favorites compete in the “Danville’s Got Talent: Battle of the Best.”
“It’s going to be a lot of fun and a little bit different than years past,” said Danville Mayor Rickey Williams “So we have eight new individuals who have been chosen, and they will battle each other on stage, kind of like you’ve seen in ‘America’s Got Talent’ or other shows.”
The “Danville’s Got Talent: Battle of the Best” event will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Fischer Theatre.
Tickets are available on the Fischer’s website for $5 per person with an additional $2 charge for processing, for $7 total.
Those performing auditioned on Jan. 14 and 15, and nine of those who tried out were selected by a judging panel. This battle is a first with the performers battling head-to-head in groups of 4, and then down to partners facing off in the ‘Battle Rounds’ during the first part of the event.
Those who advance will do so during the show with live judging. There will also be four performers who make it to the solo rounds, which will happen after intermission.
And in the second half of the show, four past winners of ‘Danville’s Got Talent’ will return to the stage to duke it out with the new top four.

The Fischer Theatre is located at 158 Vermilion St in downtown Danville.
