Mixtape: The Books That Shaped Mychal Threets Reading Challenge. Join us on Beanstack April 1 – May 31, in celebration of National Library Week’s theme, Find Your Joy. Rubber Ducky Readers: Join this fun Beanstack Challenge. For every 10 books read, the child will get a rubber duck, every 100 books equal a book, a sticker and a certificate, 1,000 books equal a goody bag filled with a book, a sticker, a completion certificate, a stuffed animal, a blow-up rubber duck, etc. This challenge is for ages 0-6. Tuesday: Teen Crafternoons. Tuesdays equal your creative time to hang out and make cool stuff. No sign-up, no stress. Just show up and create something awesome! This week: Origami May Flowers – fold, flip, and create amazing paper art. While supplies last. This program will be held from 3:30-4:30 p.m. in the Second Floor Teen Space. Intended for ages 13-19.
Tuesday: Teen Universal Yums. Ready to snack your way around the world? Each month, teens can explore a different country through its unique treats, fun trivia, and music from that culture. This month: Thailand. It’s a flavorful, interactive experience you won’t want to miss. This event will be from 4:30-5:30 p.m. in the Second Floor Teen Space. Intended for ages 13-19.
Tuesday: Tween It! Tuesdays. Fun programs for tweens each Tuesday. This week: BINGO! Come play Bingo and win prizes. This event for ages 8-12 is at 5 p.m. in the Program Room.
Tuesday: Wee Wigglers Story Time. Join us for action rhymes, stories, and songs for children ages 5-and-under a 10 a.m. on Tuesdays in the Program Room.
Wednesday: Teen Writing Club. We’ve got writing prompts and games to spark your imagination and snacks (while supplies last) to fuel your mind. Come write, chill, and connect with other teen writers. No pressure, just good vibes, cool ideas, and a space to be creative. This program is from 3:30-4:30 p.m. on Wednesdays in the Second Floor Teen Space.
Thursday: Lit Fit with Mandy. Join us Thursdays starting in April for a dance fitness series that’s as fun as your favorite book. All fitness levels welcome. Bring your water bottle and wear clothes that can handle your best moves. This class is from 3-4 p.m. in the Program Room.
Thursday: Teen “Movie Theater” Thursdays. Grab your friends and come chill at the library for a movie night featuring picks from our collection. Big Screen, Free Snacks, Your kind of movies. The fourth Thursday of the month. This event is from 4:30–6:45 p.m. in the Howard Rutan Meeting Room. Intended for ages 13-19.
Saturday: Puzzle Dash: Team Challenge. Think fast. Piece faster. Gather your puzzling pals and put your skills to the test in our speed puzzle competition. Eight teams of up to four people will race to complete the same 500-piece puzzle. Who can finish first and claim victory? Limited space available. Walk-ins welcome only if space allows. Saturday: Story Time. Have a great time listening, interacting to stories and making a fun craft. This event is at 11 a.m. Saturdays in the Children’s Department.
