DANVILLE — A Danville man was arrested Saturday and charged with first-degree murder in conjunction with an early morning shooting at Scooters Bar.
According to a release for the Danville Police Department and in collaboration with the Vermilion County State’s Attorney’s office, Trevon M. Lake, 30, was booked on charges of first-degree murder and unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon.
According to Deputy Chief Doug Miller, at approximately 1:26 a.m. Danville Police was dispatched to Scooters Bar in response to a report of shots fired. While en route, officers were advised that a shooting victim remained on scene. Upon arrival, officers located a 30-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound. Medical personnel arrived and pronounced the victim deceased on scene. The name of victim has not been released as of Saturday afternoon.
Then at approximately 1:34 a.m., Danville Police were notified that a second male subject had arrived at the emergency room at OSF Sacred Heart Medical Center with a gunshot wound. The injury was deemed non-life-threatening. After receiving treatment, the male, later identified at Lake, was transported to the Public Safety Building, where he was booked on preliminary charges of unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon and aggravated discharge of a firearm.
