DANVERS — Emergency workers made way for a group of ducklings that fell into a drain on Liberty Street Saturday morning.
Officers were notified that the ducklings had fallen into a storm drain near 106 Liberty St. shortly after 7 a.m., police Chief Jamie Lovell said.
Upon arrival, Officer Joe DeBernardo stayed with the mother duck to keep her safe as she stood in the roadway near the drain, where Danvers Public Works employees Jason Young and Alex Cohen worked to rescue the ducklings.
Six of the seven ducklings were returned safe to the mother.
