Ends legendary career a four-time Daily News All-Star, three-time All-CAL selection and two-time CAL Baker MVP (‘23, ‘24). Amesbury went a combined 74-12 over her four years with four Baker titles, two state championship game appearances (‘21, ‘22) and one title (‘22). Hit .410 (32-for-78) this spring with 30 runs scored, 28 RBI and 5 home runs. Another dominant year in the circle where she posted three no-hitters with a 1.68 ERA and 215 strikeouts in 117.0 innings pitched. Eclipsed 500 career strikeouts in just two years as the team’s starting pitcher. Co-captain led Amesbury (16-5) to the Division 4 Round of 16. Threw a perfect game with 19 strikeouts in first round win over Saint Bernard’s. Tossed a 3-hitter with 12 Ks, while also crushing two doubles, in Round of 16 loss to South Hadley. Had no-hitters against Essex Tech, Ipswich and Lynnfield. Is committed to play at UMass Boston. Was also a captain for the basketball team this winter.
Alexis LeBlanc
Amesbury, Jr., C
Took over starting catcher role and was named All-CAL. Improved in every category even after hitting .382 with 26 RBI and 3 home runs last year to make the CAL All-Star team as a sophomore. Led Amesbury in average, hitting .444 (36-for-81) with 30 runs scored, 37 RBI and 6 home runs — two of which were grand slams. Helped Amesbury (16-5) claim 11th straight CAL Baker title, and make it to the Division 4 Round of 16. Went 1-for-2 with an RBI in first round win over Saint Bernard’s. Crushed a grand slam in a win over Triton. Had a 3-for-4 day with an RBI in a win over Pentucket, and went 2-for-5 with 3 RBI in a win over Georgetown. Most impressive day this spring was a 2-for-2 game with two walks, a grand slam and seven RBI against Hamilton-Wenham. Plays club for Rip City USA, and will be a college commitment to watch during the months to come.
Ellie Barbarick
Georgetown, Frosh., C
Already now a two-time Daily News All-Star and two-time All-CAL selection. Arguably the best hitter in the CAL for the second straight season. Leadoff-hitting lefty led the area for the second straight year in average (.540, 34-for-63), runs (39) and home runs (8), while also having 18 RBI. Is now hitting an unbelievable .585 (76-for-130) with 77 runs scored, 53 RBI and 19 home runs over her first two years of high school ball. Helped Georgetown (15-7) go on a magical run to the Division 5 state championship game. Went 2-for-4 with a home run in semifinal win over Tahanto. Was 4-for-4 with two homers and three RBI to nearly lead Georgetown to first win over Newburyport in at least 16 years (a 7-6 loss). Had two other two-homer games in wins over Hamilton-Wenham and Manchester Essex. Plays club softball for Rip City USA. Also played volleyball for the Royals during the fall.
Emily Meleedy
Newburyport, Sr., P
Legendary career ends as a perfect four-time Daily News All-Star, four-time All-CAL selection and two-time CAL Kinney MVP (‘22, ‘24). Quad-captain helped Newburyport (15-6) reach the Division 3 playoffs. Hit .435 this spring (27-for-62) with a team-high 29 RBI and 4 home runs. Four-year starting pitcher finished with a 2.75 ERA and 148 strikeouts in 119.2 innings pitched. Went 2-for-4 with a home run and a walkoff single in the seventh inning to beat North Reading. Threw all nine innings in a 2-hit, 12-strikeout performance to beat Amesbury. Also tossed a complete-game 2-hitter with 10 Ks in a win against Lynnfield, and struck out seven more in a non-league win over Reading. Ends epic four-year run with 107 career hits, 112 RBI and 19 home runs at the plate, and also 503 strikeouts in 417.0 innings pitched in the circle. Will attend James Madison University next year.
Emma Keefe
Newburyport, Sr., SS
Leaves Newburyport High a two-time Daily News All-Star, two-time All-CAL selection (‘23, 24) and one-time CAL All-Star (‘21). Finished third in the area in average, hitting .493 (37-for-75) with 25 runs scored and 18 RBI while only striking out once. One of the better defensive shortstops in the CAL for multiple years. Quad-captain helped Newburyport (15-6) reach the Division 3 playoffs. Blasted the game-winning RBI-double in the top of the ninth inning that eventually beat Amesbury. Went a combined 6-for-8 in two games against Pentucket, and had three total hits in two games against Triton. Hit .519 (42-for-81) last spring as a junior while helping the Clippers win their first playoff game since 2013. Ends career with 117 total hits and 80 RBI. Was also a Daily News Field Hockey All-Star this fall, and a captain that helped the Clippers reach the Division 3 state championship game.
Kayla Murphy
Pentucket, Jr., SS
Continues to be one of the best overall players in the league. Now a three-time Daily News All-Star and three-time All-CAL selection. Finished fourth in the area in average, hitting .486 (35-for-72) with 33 runs scored, 22 RBI and 5 home runs. Easily one of the top-3 defensive shortstops in the CAL. Quad-captain helped Pentucket (14-7) reach the Division 3 playoffs. Went 1-for-3 with team’s lone RBI in playoff game against Lowell Catholic. Had a pair of 3-for-4 days with three RBI in wins over Lynnfield and Ipswich. Combined for three hits, three RBI and a home run in two wins over Newburyport. Went 2-for-4 with a homer in a win over Manchester Essex. Now has a three-year career batting average of .445 (97-for-218) with 92 runs scored, 78 RBI and 15 HRs. Plays club for Rage Softball, led by Pentucket coach Deb Smith. Also plays field hockey at Pentucket.
Molly LeBel
Pentucket, Jr., P
Has now been Pentucket’s starting pitcher all three years of her high school career. A two-time Daily News All-Star and two-time All-CAL selection. Finished this spring with a 1.92 ERA and 171 strikeouts in 133.1 innings pitched. Quad-captain helped Pentucket (14-7) reach the Division 3 playoffs for the third straight year, after the program had just three wins in each of the previous two seasons. No-hit Ipswich. Combined for 14.0 innings, 3 hits and 17 strikeouts in two wins over Lynnfield. Tossed a complete-game 2-hitter with six Ks to led Panthers past North Reading for the first time in nine years. Struck out 14 over five innings against Manchester Essex, and tossed a 2-hitter to beat Essex Tech. Currently stands at 576 career strikeouts heading into her senior season. A year-round softball player plays club for Rage Softball, led by Pentucket coach Deb Smith.

Triton, Sr., SS
Ends tremendous career a three-time Daily News All-Star (‘21, ‘22, ‘24), a two-time All-CAL selection and a two-time CAL All-Star. Finished second in the area with a .507 average and 34 runs scored, while leading the area with 38 hits and 39 RBI. Also hit a team-high 5 home runs. Tri-captain helped Triton (18-5) win its third straight CAL Kinney title, and make it to the Division 3 quarterfinals. Went 2-for-4 with three runs scored and an RBI in Elite Eight game at Hudson. Had a three-run home run in 3-0 win over Essex Tech. Went 3-for-4 with two homers and six RBI in a win over Wilmington. Had a 2-for-4 day with a homer and five RBI against Georgetown, and a 2-for-3 day with two RBI in a win over Pentucket. Finished stellar four-year career with a .483 average (140-for-288), 116 runs scored, 119 RBI and 8 home runs. Was consistently a Triton Regional Honor Roll student.
Skylar Colburn
Triton, Sr., C
Elite defensive catcher finishes as a two-time Daily News All-Star and two-time All-CAL selection. The senior saved her best season for her final one, hitting .466 (34-for-73) with 20 RBI while only striking out six times. Called pitches for two-time Kinney MVP Emma Penniman, who posted an area-best 1.21 ERA and 259 strikeouts. Tri-captain helped Triton (18-5) win its third straight CAL Kinney title and make it to the Division 3 state quarterfinals. Went a combined 8-for-11 with three RBI over the team’s three playoff games. Had a 3-for-4 day in a win over Pentucket, and went 2-for-4 with two doubles and four RBI in a victory over Wilmington. Hit .388 with 17 RBI and 2 home runs as a junior. Will continue her softball career at Curry College. Played club for Rage Softball. Was consistently a Triton Regional Honor Roll student through high school.
