It’s time for Fairfield Glade’s Cupcake Wars — and this year, things are going to get spooky.
Bakers from all around the Glade are encouraged to enter this year’s Halloween-themed event and bake sale that takes place from 10 a.m.-noon (or while cupcakes last) Wednesday, Oct. 25, at The Center, 128 Stonehenge Dr.
Judges from throughout the community will determine who makes the best, most delicious cupcakes and award a prize and bragging rights to the winner.
Cupcake Wars is more than a contest — the goodies will be sold after the judging, with proceeds going to community charities.
Registration forms are available at The Center. All prospective bakers must be registered by Friday, Oct. 20, and must bring a minimum of 12 cupcakes to the event. Bakers are welcome to bring more than a dozen if they wish, but only one entry per contestant will be judged.
Cupcakes can be made from a box mix, but the baker must add ingredients to make the batter truly their own. Icing for all cupcakes must be homemade.
Cupcake Wars organizers ask all entered bakers to include typed recipes for both their cupcakes and frosting.
Entrants are asked to have their cupcakes at The Center before 9 a.m., when judging will begin. Cupcakes will be judged on taste, originality, appearance and display.
Following the contest, cupcakes will be available for sale for $2 each.
Prospective entrants are asked to contact Susan at sfiebig@fairfieldglade.cc or 931-484-3907 for information.
This year’s annual Cupcake Wars is a cooperative event between Fairfield Glade Community Club and Dr. Johnny Shanks and Northside Family Dentistry.
