The Cumberland Woodturners recently hosted three Conrad Tours at their workshop on the Tennessee College of Applied Technology Upper Cumberland campus in Crossville.
The tours welcomed 53 guests who were interested in learning about the woodturning educational opportunities available from the Woodturners Club.
Demonstrations were held showcasing bowl and Christmas ornament turnings. Examples of finished work done by club members were on display, with additional displays at the Art Circle Library and the Art Guild of Fairfield Glade. Additional tours are being considered due to significant interest of the community.
The Woodturners Club has partnered with The Art Guild to promote safety training classes made available to the community for a nominal charge.
“The Woodturners Club extends a thank you to TCAT for providing the educational workspace that both promotes the woodturning art form and recognizes the community outreach made available with this resource,” said Tom Neckvatal, Cumberland Woodturners community liaison. “We also thank the representatives of the Conrad Tours for making this experience a memorable event. Thank you to Cheryl LaSalle for organizing everything.”
