CUMBERLAND — A city man was being held without bond Wednesday after he was arrested for allegedly robbing a woman of her purse and other belongings in the Canal Street area, according to Cumberland Police.
Michael Scott Wentling Jr. was charged with robbery, second-degree assault and conspiracy to commit those crimes in connection with the April 22 incident in which Wentling was accompanied by a second male suspect, police said.
No information was disclosed by police concerning the second suspect.
Wentling, 22, was being held at the Allegany County Detention Center after he was taken into custody Tuesday on an arrest warrant served at an unspecified location.
