CUMBERLAND — A city man was jailed Monday after he allegedly assaulted a visitor at his Paca Street apartment, according to Cumberland Police.
Darryl Lamar Powell Jr., 28, was located in the vicinity of the assault after he allegedly ran from the scene prior to the arrival of officers called to the complaint in the 200 block.
The victim required medical attention for injuries sustained when Powell allegedly struck him in the face and choked him after he arrived to contact a family member, police said.
Powell was charged with first-degree assault and related offense before he was jailed in the Allegany County Detention Center at the order of a district court commissioner.
