CUMBERLAND — A city man is awaiting trial after he assaulted a person during a public disturbance Sunday on Pershing Street, then shoved and assaulted a police officer as he was being placed under arrest, according to Cumberland Police.
No injuries were reported in the incident that prompted the arrest of Bryce Steven Patton on two counts of second-degree assault, intoxicated public disturbance and related charges.
Following appearance before a district court commissioner, Patton, 28, was granted pre-trial release upon posting bond of $2,500 set by the court officer.
Police said officers responded to the scene and observed the alleged assault before taking Patton into custody without further incident.
