Cullman Regional is expanding its pediatric program to include new pediatric physicians, a new larger pediatric clinic location and a pediatric hospitalist program to provide 24/7 coverage for the hospital.
Beginning Sept. 3, pediatricians Dr. John Licata and Dr. Christopher Dodd will see patients at Cullman Regional Medical Group Pediatric Clinic.
Licata, who is relocating his practice from Tuscaloosa, completed his medical degree at Augusta University in Augusta, Georgia, and residency at Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina. Dodd completed his medical degree and residency at the University of Alabama in Birmingham and is relocating his practice from Franklin, Tennessee.
“Bringing in new pediatricians underscores our commitment to provide high quality care for children and families in Cullman and surrounding communities,” VP of physician services Lisa Courtney said in a press release. “And with a larger, dedicated clinic space, we are better able to meet the increasing demand for pediatric services in our area.”
Licata and Dodd will join pediatrician Dr. Andrew Jones in the new 5,800 square foot clinic located on the third floor of Professional Office Building III on Cullman Regional campus.
Cullman Regional has created a new pediatric hospitalist program to ensure that specialized pediatric physician care is available 24/7. Pediatric hospitalist physicians care for patients in the hospital’s pediatric unit and can be consulted to see patients in the ER.
