Crossville’s Got Talent is back for the 15th year and contestants are needed for auditions.
The community competition is patterned after the TV show “America’s Got Talent” and gets bigger and better every year, said organizer Ruth Lucas.
“Crossville certainly has talent that matches up with the television show,” she added.
Crossville’s Got Talent finale will be at 7 p.m. Friday, May 30, at the Palace Theatre in downtown Crossville. Individuals or acts wanting to try out for the competition must call or text 931-248-2487 or call 931-484-7416 by Thursday, May 1, to register for a free audition.
Auditions will begin at 5 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, at Fair Park Senior Center at 1433 Livingston Road, across from the Community Complex.
Lucas said people with all types of talent are welcome and are encouraged to audition. Trophies, cash prizes, show tickets, aquarium tickets, gift cards, and more will be awarded as prizes.
“Talents include singing, dancing, telling jokes, playing an instrument, juggling, ventriloquist, dancing, magic, tumbling, and almost anything that you can do to entertain,” she added. “Whatever type of talent, Crossville’s Got Talent Show would love to have you. A wide variety of different acts makes a great show.”
The sponsors are Mayberry’s Fine Furniture, Cracker Barrel, Century 21 Realty, East Tennessee Dodge, Cumberland County Playhouse, Tennessee Aquarium, STAR Recording Studio, McDonald’s of East Tennessee, Stonehaus Winery, Papa John’s Pizza, and Walmart.
“Registration to audition is free,” Lucas said. “If you make it past the judges’ cut at the auditions, you will advance on to the finals on May 30.”
She added, “It’s fun to show what you can do, plus you might just win some big prizes and meet some new friends.”
Tickets for the show are $15 each and are available at Fair Park office, or call 931-248-2487 or 931-484-7416.
All ticket proceeds go to benefit the programs for seniors at Fair Park.
