With the Champlain Valley Athletic Conference championships looming, schools across the conference competed in the last day of competition, Tuesday.
Teams will now rest and prepare for Saturday when they compete for the CVAC title at Northeastern Clinton. The race is set to begin at noon.

CADYVILLE — Three runners broke the course record which was set last year on the new course which was realigned three seasons ago.
Sean Dormann of Saranac, Colby Chase of Seton, and Aidan Fay of Lake Placid broke Jake Kollmer’s previous record of 16:55 set in 2023 while he was running for Saranac Lake. The Course record is now held by Sean Dormann who claimed the top time of 16:45 on this course.
The Peru and Saranac boys swept their respective meets in Cadyville on Tuesday. Saranac ended the season with an 18-2 record with a solid showing
In the girl’s race three of the top teams in the CVAC competed against each other.
Saranac finished the season undefeated, finishing the regular season with a 20-0 record, as they won both of their races, becoming the regular season CVAC Champions. While the Lake Placid girl’s team finished second in the section with an 18-2 record. Peru finished the season with a 14-6 record losing to Lake Placid in a very tight race.
Saranac runners, Sienna Boulds and Laura Denial, led the way coming in first and second, respectively, followed by Maddy Welc of Peru and Leila Fey and Kai McKinnon of Lake Placid.

SARANAC LAKE — The Saranac Lake Red Storm showed out on its home course to end the regular season, winning both the boys and girls races against the visiting Ausable Valley Patriots and Plattsburgh Hornets.
In the boys’ race, Saranac Lake defeated Plattsburgh 24-34, and Ausable Valley 23-34. In the girls’ race, they defeated the Hornets 18-42 and the Patriots 17-46.
Jake Kollmer was the first place finisher in the boys race with a time of 16:36, finishing nearly half a minute before PHS’ top finisher Connor Duda who finished second at 17:00. Kollmer was a Section 7 individual champion last season.
Jonathan Frakes finished 15 seconds behind Duda, giving Plattsburgh two runners in the top three.
Celton Dupris was the first Patriot across the finish line with a time of 17:30.
Saranac Lake’s Keaton Daley and AVCS’ Reece Long rounded out the top five finishers with times of 17:37 and 17:56 respectively.
Nora Daley was the top finisher in the girls’ race, running the course in 20:59. Finishing behind her were teammates Cadence Kennedy with a time of 21:13 and Asa Bruno with a time of 21:26.
Elizabeth Chase was the first Hornet to finish, earning fourth place with a time of 21:27. Kaelin Suloff was Ausable’s top runner, rounding out the top five with a time of 21:51.

CHAMPLAIN — Beekmantown blazed to a combined six wins in the cross country meet in Champlain on Wednesday. The Eagles boys and girls cross country teams secured strong wins over NCCS, Ticonderoga and Moriah/Boquet Valley.
The boys swept all three teams with perfect 15 scores, and the girls swept two of its three matchups and defeated NCCS 17-44. The wins brought the Beekmantown boy’s team to the top finish in the CVAC with an undefeated record of 20-0.
The perfect 15’s are the result of Beekmantown finishing with all top five spots in the boys race. Nolan Laidman, Jonathan Slick, Chris Lincourt, Max Page and Sam Page earned the spots with times of 17:02, 17:03, 17:35, 18:00 and 18:03.
Beekmantown’s Loghan Strickland finished one second out of the top five with a time of 18:03.
In the girls’ race, Olivia Drowne, Bristol Provost, Ryleigh Baker and Sophie Yost finished in that order. The Beekmantown runners finished with times of 19:06, 21:54, 23:22 and 23:25 respectively.
A pair of NCCS runners interrupted the Beekmantown sweep. Lindsay Williams and Megan Williams earned the fifth and sixth finishes with times of 23:27 and 23:44, respectively.
