A Crossville Police cruiser was struck broadside in an early morning crash inside the city limits Wednesday morning. No injuries were reported but charges may be pending, according to the Tennessee Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred was reported around 4:45 a.m. at the intersection of S. Main Street at Lantana Road at the intersection in the area of Scarlett’s.
According to a THP preliminary report, a 2010 Toyota Corolla driven by Kenneth Gudiel Miranda Jiguan, 37, no address available, ran a red light on Lantana Road and crashed into the the side of a 2020 Dodge Durango driven by CPD’s Mptl. Amy Sherrill’s police cruiser.
Sherrill was on routine patrol traveling north on Main Street when the police car was struck. The impact caused the patrol car to rollover before coming to rest in the roadway.
Both motorist were wearing seatbelts. The preliminary report states charges are pending.
