Cowden-Herrick announced Students of the Month and Staff Role Model for October.
Cowden-Herrick teachers have named eighth grader Connor Vaughn and junior Kaidyn Calame Students of the Month for October.
The Students of the Month are nominated each month based on academic effort, attitude, participation/contribution, responsibility and service. Junior high and/or high school students are selected each month. They each receive $25 donated by United Fidelity Bank.
Connor is the son of Sarah and Nathan Vaughn. His siblings are Reece and Laine.
Connor plays basketball and baseball for the Cowden-Herrick Bobcats, as well as Midwest Iron Lions travel baseball. His future plans are to become a pharmacist.
Kaidyn is the son of Tashina and Kevin Calame. He has one sibling, Kaisyn.
Kaidyn is a member of the National Honor Society, FFA and FCA. He plays basketball and baseball for the Cowden-Herrick Bobcats. His future plans are undecided at this time.
Cowden-Herrick announced Karen Christner as “Staff Role Model of the Month” for October.
The Staff Role Model of the Month is nominated each month by students, staff and community members. She will receive a $50 cash award donated by Aaron and Devi Hawes on behalf of Lockart & Green Funeral Services.
Christner teaches Business, Math and Computers. She is the Junior Class Sponsor, Yearbook Adviser and Student Council Co-Sponsor.
She enjoys spending time with her family, watching her kids’ sporting events and doing puzzles. Christner resides in Neoga with her husband, Ben, and three sons: Tate, Gage and Reed.
