MANKATO — A Courtland man was convicted on one count of criminal vehicular operation in connection with a two-vehicle crash on Highway 169 in Mankato in late 2024.
Lynn Robert Folsom, 55, was convicted Tuesday in Blue Earth County District Court after pleading guilty to the felony charge of criminal vehicular operation causing substantial bodily harm.
Folsom was sentenced to four days in Blue Earth County Jail with credit for the four days already served, according to the sentencing order. He was also sentenced to 60 days of electronic home monitoring beginning July 13, and two years of probation supervised by the county.
The charge and conviction stemmed from a crash on Nov. 30, 2024, on Highway 169 at Lind Street in Mankato. Authorities claimed Folsom pulled out in front of another vehicle, causing the collision. A preliminary breath test administered at the scene reportedly indicated Folsom had a blood-alcohol concentration of 0.21, and a responding state trooper also reported signs of intoxication. Folsom was uninjured.
The other driver, Amanda Rose Scharfe, then 35, of North Mankato, suffered non-life-threatening injuries, including a broken finger. Four children riding in Scharfe’s vehicle were not injured.
