Ivey Maddox and Ava McSwain combined for 57 points on Thursday night as Good Hope’s varsity girls raced past Vinemont 77-56 to advance at this year’s Cullman County Basketball Tournament at Wallace State.
The top-seeded and Class 4A No. 2 Raiders (23-2) knocked down 12 3-pointers — Maddox made seven and McSwain four — and led by as many as 29 points in the second half of their semifinal matchup against the No. 5 Eagles.
Good Hope will play for its third straight county championship on Saturday at 5 p.m. It will face No. 2 Cold Springs or No. 3 West Point.
