VALDOSTA – Lowndes County has selected an engineer as part of the Arglass Road Extension project.
Shared documents said Valdosta-Lowndes County Development Authority will soon request an EIP (Employment Incentive Program) Grant to extend Arglass Road but requested for Lowndes County to be the listed applicant.
Chad McLeod, the county director of engineering services, clarified the extension is solely for the Arglass road.
The county received three proposals and were scored based on a specific criteria. Following prior discussions, the county board of commissioners voted unanimously during their Jan. 9 meeting to approve Lovell Engineering Associates, PC as the professional engineer. The other applicants were Carter and Slope Consulting Engineers of Macon, Ga. and AE Engineers, Inc. of Jacksonville, Fla.
Funding for the hire will be paid by the VLDA.
