CUMBERLAND — Allegany County Public Schools has made several additional administrative changes for the 2025-2026 school year, according to Superintendent Michael Martirano.
James Evans has been named supervisor of science. Evans holds a bachelor’s degree in earth science/general science and secondary education and a master’s degree in administration and supervision from Frostburg State University. He is entering his 32nd year with ACPS with 12 years teaching and 20 years serving as an assistant principal, most recently at Mountain Ridge High School.
Scott Llewellyn has been named supervisor of elementary education. Llewellyn earned his bachelor’s degree in elementary education and master’s degree in administration and supervision from Frostburg State University. He has served as a teacher, assistant principal and principal, and most recently was principal of Cresaptown Elementary School.
Heather Peters has been named acting principal of Cresaptown Elementary School. Peters holds a bachelor’s degree in early childhood/elementary education and a master’s degree in administration and supervision from Frostburg State University. She brings with her more than 19 years of experience in education, including 15 years as a classroom teacher and four years as the assistant principal of Northeast Elementary School.
Shawn Swisher has been appointed acting assistant principal at Mountain Ridge High School. Swisher earned his bachelor’s degree in early childhood education and master’s degree in administration and supervision from Frostburg State University. He has been part of the ACPS system for over 25 years, serving in both teaching and administrative roles.
Kristine Jackson has been named acting assistant principal at Braddock Middle School. Jackson holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and sociology, a master’s degree in school counseling and a doctorate degree in educational leadership, all from Frostburg State University. She has been a school counselor for over 20 years and is entering her fifth year in Allegany County.
Devin McGregor has been appointed acting assistant principal at Northeast Elementary School. McGregor holds a bachelor’s degree in social sciences, a master’s degree in teaching from Towson University and a professional development certificate in school improvement leadership from Goucher College. He has held the position of social studies teacher/specialist in Anne Arundel County and served as a community school coordinator at Westernport Elementary.
