Friday evening, Aug. 28, Cumberland County officials were sworn in for the 2026-2030 legislative term in a public ceremony at the Cumberland County Courthouse.
Tennessee House Speaker Cameron Sexton performed the oaths of office ceremony for all officials except three county commissioners.
Commissioners Jerry Cooper, 7th District; Colleen Mall and John Patterson, 9th District commissioners, did not attend the ceremony. They were all reelected and were sworn in at different times. Mall was sworn in Aug. 21, Cooper on Aug. 27, and Patterson Aug. 31.
Cumberland County officials were sworn in during the ceremony in the following order:
• County Mayor, Allen Foster
• County Sheriff, Casey Cox
• County Road Superintendent, Kevin Music
• County Clerk, Jule Bryson
• Circuit Court Clerk, Jessica R. Burgess
• Register of Deeds, Trey Kerley
• County Trustee, Kim Tollett Wyatt
• Cumberland County Commission, 1st District, Wiley Potter, Sue Ann York; 2nd District, Tom Isham, Donald Threet; 3rd District, Craig Clark, Karen B. Shanks; 4th District, Gary Adams, David H. Gibson; 5th District, Jack Davis, Terry Lowe; 6th District, Joe Sherrill, Wendell Wilson; 7th District, Tyler Sisco; 8th District, Keith Burgess, Jr., Greg Maxwell.
• Cumberland County Board of Education, 1st District, Kevin Dean; 3rd District, Sheri Nichols; 4th District, Nickey Philpot, unexpired term that ends in 2028; 5th District, Chris Seals; 7th District, Blair Woodcock; 9th District, Dan Schlafer.
