Niagara County Manager Richard Updegrove is set to serve a new four-year term in the role.
The Niagara County Legislature approved entering a new contract with Updegrove at their Nov. 14 meeting.
The new four-year term will commence on April 1, 2024. Updegrove has been county manager since 2016, with his last term starting in 2020 saw him starting off making $126,183 a year.
As county manager, Updegrove is one of the people in charge of putting the county budget together every year.
Updegrove said the terms of his new contract are the same as his previous contract. The current draft contract does not list a salary as the county legislature has the authority to set his salary through the county budget process.
Any benefits assigned to the position are the same as contained in the county’s CSEA contract.
