The Common Council approved establishing the Local Waterfront Revitalization Program with a budget of $100,000, consisting of $85,000 in grant funds and an additional $15,000 in a local match.
Following an RFP process, the city selected LaBella Associates, an architecture and engineering firm from Buffalo, to develop a Local Waterfront Revitalization Program plan using the funds. According to the RFP, a draft plan is due for review next March. Mike Marino, CEO of Nussbaumer & Clarke, the engineering firm on retainer with the city, said the Erie Canal is designated an inland waterway, which makes it qualify for the state program.
The council also approved increased fees for docking at Wide Waters Marina as follows:
• Boat launch/trailer parking $5
• Seasonal boat slips without electric or water $10 per foot
• Seasonal boat slips without electric but with water, $15 per foot
• Seasonal boat slips, including electric and water, $20 per foot
• Daily transient boat slips $2 per foot
In other business, the council approved salary increases recommended by the Lockport Housing Authority negotiating committee for its employees at its regular meeting on Wednesday.
For the CSEA Local 832 union employees:
• 5% increase for the fiscal year beginning April 1, 2026
• 3% increase for the fiscal year beginning April 1, 2027
• 3% increase for the fiscal year beginning April 1, 2028
For the Management Association employees:
• 5% increase for the fiscal year beginning April 1, 2026
• 3% increase for the fiscal year beginning April 1, 2027
• 3% increase for the fiscal year beginning April 1, 2028
